The Old Website

I was sad to have to dismantle the old website
but it was a big flash-based machine
and expensive to host and maintain.
I was proud of it…but its time had passed.

I know some people loved it and some people hated it.

The people who hated it seemed to be divided into two camps.

Camp one were those who saw it as an awful implementation
of website interface protocol. They saw it as a design failure.
These are people who judge websites on their professional efficiency.

Oh…believe me…the site was not in any way efficient;
I’ll give them that.
People got lost…couldn’t figure out how to navigate it…

But it wasn’t meant to be easy. It was supposed to be a bit of a challenge.
Sort of a game. That was the fun of it. At least I thought so…

The other camp made it through into the content,
but didn’t like the political bent once they got there.
Maybe for them music and political statements shouldn’t mix,
or maybe they just took offense to my politics. To each his own.

In any event, the old website really was created for and
only made sense during the Bush/Cheney reign.

Anyway…RIP old website.
All that remains right now is Ouija And Monopoly (the blog section).
